This serves as a constantly updating Infodump on the Angel I write to, Lan, the Reignbow Arbiter 〜 or whom I personally title "The Radiant Sun."
Lan — also known as the Reignbow Arbiter (and Archer Lord of Fate, God of The Skybow, Devilish Archer Author) — is the Aeon who presides over the Path of The Hunt, They wander through the universe endlessly and tirelessly in search for Their prey (currently Yaoshi, the Aeon of Abundance) to fulfill Their oath to Their homeland — the Xianzhou Alliance — to protect it at all costs.
As of now They have 2 Follower Factions, The Xianzhou Alliance and The Galaxy Rangers:
- Lan is devoted (we'll get into that) to the Xianzhou and blesses Them fully, even gifting Their own selected Generals Divine Spirits to aid them in battle, so it can follow Their hunt for the Abundance.
- The Galaxy Rangers, on the other hand, are less noticed by Them and do not hold blood against the Abundance, rather, They follow Lan's philosophy to fight fire with fire in upholding justice.
Lan is close to mortals but does not show Themselves as anything more than the streak of Their Lux Arrow in the sky, as They are still on Their Hunt. Their followers are capable of calling Them for aid at any time, and They are there to respond.
Lan's devotion to the Xianzhou Alliance is because of it being Their homeland and Their oath to eliminate anything that threatens it at all costs. the Xianzhou Alliance is a hexafleet (before this, a nonafleet, the Daiyu, Cangcheng and Yuanqiao have fallen) consisting of the Luofu, Yaoqing, Zhuming, Yuque, Xuling, and Fanghu.
In Their past life as a mortal; Lan, or Reignbow, specifically hails from the Xianzhou Yaoqing, being born in what is known as the military ship among the 6, They are a soldier who is described to be their greatest, "uncontended," as Ode to Reignbow Path puts it.
They hold a bunch of heroic exploits, They are mostly known for Their part in both the War against the Heliobi and the Wingweavers later on, where They both lead suicide pacts against the enemy:
- In the War against the Heliobi, They lead a suicide pact consisting of 9 people (including Them), They disassembled and weaponised the Auxiliary engine of the Yaoqing ship and flew it into the Red Sun created by the Heliobi — causing it to undergo a premature death. In the aftermath of this war, the Leader of all Heliobi (the Flint Emperor <== IMPORTANT) was imprisoned in the Xianzhou Zhuming!
Moving away for a moment⸺A while after this, the Xianzhou Alliance found Yaoshi at the end of its search for the blessing of immortality, after asking Them — the Alliance was gifted Their blessing in the form of the Ambrosial Arbor, which was planted on the Xianzhou Luofu. While the residents celebrated this gift and welcomed it — Reignbow was struck with Divine Visions, given to Them by Nous — the Aeon of Erudition, of the future the Arbor will bring on the Xianzhou.
A known trait of Yaoshi's blessings is that they include an unfortunate side effect alongside their immortality, which will take place on the being when they have reached a certain age. The Xianzhou specifically was struck by Mara, an effect that is indicated by bodily growth (plants growing out of one's body) and loss of sanity.
When Reignbow came to confront the residents of the side effects of the blessing, They were said to have gone insane and were ridiculed by those around Them. From the Aristocrats, to the middle and then the poor. This angered Reignbow, and in result They showed Their resolve by firing a shot to the Ambrosial Arbor. As punishment, the residents had decided to imprison Them by locking Them inside a cryopod—This is with them taking into account Reignbow's heroic exploits throughout Their life.
- This is where the second war takes place! a while after Reignbow had been imprisoned, the Xianzhou had run into the Muldrasil, home of the Wingweavers. The Wingweavers start to make connections with the Ambrosial Arbor on the Luofu which leads to a war against them. Due to the Xianzhou having already been dealing with multiple crises at the time of this, they decide to release all of Their prisoners as a last resort — including Reignbow.
- Reignbow was told to strategise for the war after being released, and They were given advice by Their peers. Though They refused that advice and ran straight to the Shackling Prison on the Zhuming — where the Flint Emperor is. In that time, the two of Them made vows with each other, a deal in exchange for the power of all Heliobi, for everything that Reignbow is.
"The mountains and rivers are shaken by the Wingweavers, the Xianzhou and heliobi must cross this bridge hand-in-hand." / "You were exiled to the inferno, but now you can join me to cleanse these monsters from our land."
- Now with the Power of all Heliobi at Their possession, Reignbow stood at the bow of the Yaoqing and aimed Their bow at the Ambrosial Arbor. They shot a Lux Arrow into the Arbor and the impact of that shot reached even the furthest ships from the Arbor (for reference, the order of ships is The Yaoqing, Luofu, Yuque, Zhuming, Fanghu and Xuling; Reignbow stood firm at the very front.)
- The Shot ripped open a fissure into the void, and a monstrous wave of imaginary force spewed forth from it. Reignbow had burnt Themselves to cinder, and fell into the void. Though not long after, the Flint Emperor came to Reignbow with part of Their body and ascended to become Lan. the other body of the Flint Emperor is left behind on the Alliance, it is now being used as an infinite power source on the Flamewheel Forge of the Zhuming.
Despite Their very elaborate backstory, it must be known that the trueness of the Ode is dubious — as it is implied to have been tampered with by the Enigmata, which are known to obscure the truth for misinformation. Though, there are things scattered around the Xianzhou that strengthen the Ode even the slightest bit.
In Appearance, Lan is described as "a Tall Valiant Prince with a Crown," They take upon the form of a Centaur — albeit Their hind legs are replaced with wheels like that of a Chariot, and Their headpiece is referred to as a Crown in the Simulated Universe.
- Their themes of royalty go beyond that as Their mortal name "Reignbow" in Chinese (帝弓 "Di Gong") roughly translates to "Emperor Bow" and although They were a Soldier (a Knight) in Their past life—They exchanged vows with an Emperor prior to Their ascension and are now described as a Prince as an Aeon.
Lan has patterns of being dehumanised and treated as a weapon both in Their mortal and aeonhood, in all cases by the Xianzhou! Reignbow had only lived in the moment of Their punishment because of Their heroic exploits being taken into account, and They were immediately put into strategising after They were let out. As an Aeon now, They are a missile launcher that the Xianzhou are able to call upon whenever it wants. Somewhat in relation to this, The title "Devilish Archer Author" is actually a derogatory term created by the Abundance to refer to Lan.
A trait to Lan is the destruction They leave in Their wake — as They blur the line between it and Salvation. The Lux Arrows that They shoot are made of stars and shot with gravity, they cause destruction to everything in its path and not just the target. Extra Fact: The Lux Arrows are actually powers of the Flint Emperor!
Lan is potentially passively suicidal by the amount of suicide missions They have gone through, Their hunt now as an Aeon is a suicide mission in itself — as it is likely that when Lan's target has been eliminated, that will be Their end as well.
