JUST US THIS NIGHT.
Note: Lan's pronouns are marked with [Brackets] to avoid confusion, as both Lan and Suiyang use They/Them.
The "Moon" shines light upon the darkness of the land, with Dim lights colouring the abode in soft orange and purple. The Emperor sits still right near the front yard, Awaiting the homecoming of Their beloved crowned Hunter.
The Emperor holds the Mystic Knot in Their hand, gently brushing Their fingers over it. Leaning back against a wall, They yawn, even though They have slept for so many years straight ever since The Perfect Ending has been written. The eyes on Their wings struggle to stay open, the lower pair on Their face slowly close, and Their main threaten to close as well ...
and before They knew ...
"A——Argh!" They groan, rubbing Their eyes and breathing out after. Even with the Perfect Ending written, They are still as bored as ever. Honestly, Why wouldn't They be? They've experienced almost everything life has to offer for Them — A second thought, No, They don't want to live another life of torment, it'd be better to live a quiet life than have an infinite amount of things happen in it every second.
Why doesn't the all Powerful Leader of the Heliobi just come to Their lover?⸻Are you kidding!? Who thought of something like that? The Emperor crosses Their arms as They huff, still looking at where Their lover would usually return — hand clenching into a fist, Mystic Knot discarded and hung up back on Their robes — most of which taken off and hanging loose on Their body.
"Just how long do They possibly need!?" The Emperor asks to Themself, though gets immediately interrupted by the sight of Their lover coming back home. The Emperor grins sheepishly, as if every bit of annoyance They had was never there, Their irises — except the main — all move upward, signifying Their absolute giddiness. Thinking about it... It's a rather horrifying sight to lay ones eyes on.
"My love," the Emperor coos, leaning forward where They are sitting and watching as the Hunter comes closer towards Them, kneeling in front of Them and taking off [Their] crown, then turning [Their] head up to look at Them. [I apologise for taking longer than usual, My Lord.] It was clear in [Their] voice that [They] had regretted taking so long — even though, [They] really didn't. Even so, perhaps time flows differently for those who are in the Thrones of Divinity.
"Do not apologise for such things," The Emperor chuckles, cupping the Hunter's cheek in one of Their hands, "For I'm already the happiest person alive to even have you here with me," They continue, cupping the other cheek and bringing The Hunter's face to Theirs — leaving a peck on [Their] lips, watching as the flames of both of Their bodies mix into one — making that of a small rainbow, "and only me." They whisper to Themselves and chuckle,
[pardon?]
"Nothing! Nothing, You didn't hear anything."
"But, say, Why were you so late than usual?" The Emperor cups the Hunter's face tighter, looking at [Them] with a barely visible but noticeable frown — and that tinge of annoyance back. The Emperor watches as regret washes over the Hunter's face, making Them chuckle.
[I was interrupted while I was having my evening walk.] The Hunter says solemnly, seeing as how the Emperor's face contorts to surprise — with a tinge of disgust. "Someone interrupted you on your very well deserved break, and made you work more??" It was clear in Their voice that They were annoyed beyond belief.
And rightfully so! even if Gods cannot exhaust Themselves physically, the world still believes They are deserving of Their breaks, With the existence of specific schedules affirming that. Most Importantly, The Hunter is both the Sun and Moon! is it truly that selfish for The Emperor to want [Them] to have more breaks?!
"They're so rude, asking you to work for longer than you already do. You were supposed to be off schedule 15 minutes and 20 seconds ago! Can't they handle a few months without you?!" The Emperor continues, letting go of The Hunter's face and crossing Their arms.
[My Lord, the people are obviously not on the same level as us—]
"Do you really think I need to be told that?"
"it's just not fair! they have three suns — including you! — that they're able to get used to, that they've gotten used to, I have to wait multiple months over and over just to have you for myself and not see you for just a few minutes before you have to leave again and become the moon and—"
muah.
... The Emperor's face becomes as bright as the sun.
[Shouldn't you be 'spending' your energy on things that actually matter, instead of complaining about nonsense — like you said before?] The Hunter steps back from the kiss, tilting [Their] head to the side.
"I've never said something like that."
[Please do not try covering up Your own words, especially in front of Your own husband.] The Hunter states, watching as how The Emperor's face dims again to its usual level.
"Oh, really? Tell me when I said that, then, Husband." The Emperor dares, chuckling and leaning back again. Knowing very well [They're] going to win a game like this — screw Hunters and their sharp memory.
[Approximately 4000 Years, 13 months, 5 weeks and 4 days ago, My Lord. You said that while I was complaining about The Huntsman and His schtick about the Blood Moon prophecy, just moments after I got home.]
I don't know why I bother, The Emperor thinks to Themselves, looking at The Hunter with a sheepish grin — trying to hide Their embarrassment, having been found guilty. Again, screw Hunters and their sharp memory!
"But, I can't really do anything that matters when the person that matters most to me is out of reach, Can I~?" The Emperor teases, smirking as They look into the Hunter's eyes. They bring both of Their arms up, having them wide open for the Hunter — "Hm? You don't want to keep Your Emperor waiting, do you?" They add again, still smirking and giggling.
The Hunter sighs with a smile, defeated, [They] walk over to The Emperor and hug Them, both Their flames mixing together again — The Emperor hums, content in the presence of Their beloved Hunter. "I get to have you to myself for months~ Can anyone really be luckier?" They tease, closing Their eyes and resting Their head on The Hunter's chest.
"Stay like this with me for just awhile longer, will you?"
"Of course, anything for you."
I can't really write stories, honestly. Most stories I've written don't have much of a plot, and even if they did they weren't really much. This is no different, though.
I just wanted to write something of SuiLan, honestly. I find it easier to write characters without using Their actual names — in this case replacing Them with titles, but I want to try doing that one day. I like writing, I'm just not very good at it.
